Oh what to wear!

Oh what to wear!

I love getting dressed up for a special occasion, but it can be a little stressful sometimes. It's the season of weddings & I have two this summer! Obviously I need two new outfits!

Thankfully there are loads of gorgeous dresses in the shops at the moment.

Floral prints are a big trend this season, & we'll be seeing them everywhere! Not only are prints right on trend, they're also very flattering.

A pretty little flower print dress can hide a multitude of sins! The print just skims over any annoying lumps & bumps leaving you with a lovely silhouette. The flowery print also gives you that pop of colour to help you stand out of the crowd, without out shining the bride of course!

So now for the shoes to compliment the dress. The general rule of thumb is, if your outfit is patterned then go for a simple, one colour shoe. A nude or neutral coloured court shoe is always a safe bet. We have lots of gorgeous heels in neutral tones here at McConnells to choose from.

These Gorgeous peep toe heels from Kate Appleby will finish off any outfit! Coming in silver or blush gold "Devon" are a great way to make your outfit shine! I love the red sole too, giving a little nod to the famous Louboutins.

Now, I am kind of in love with these shoes, because not only are they chic & beautiful, but they are so versatile! I can work them with a flowery print tea dress & delicate clutch. Or wear them with a chic figure hugging pencil dress, adding more glam with an oversized glittery bag & a bejewelled hair brooch to set my look. I love a simple flower in my hair or a chic brooch instead of a fascinator or hat for a wedding. That you can let your entire outfit shine & not let a hat be the centre of attention.

Not everyone wants to go for a nude or neutral shoe, so why not add a pop of colour with these fab Fuschia pink sling backs from our Tamaris range.

"Cindy" is a classic sling back that gives you that pop of colour without being too in your face! It's a great colour for spring/summer & would look great with a flower print dress. This shade of pink is also versatile, as it will add a fab pop of colour to any outfit. It goes so well with navy, purple, geometric prints, yellows & so much more!

Now if you like the flower print trend, but don't fancy going head to toe in it, why not add a touch of print with your accessories. A dress in a block colour can look very chic. By adding a few colourful & eye catching accessories you can really make your outfit shine. A chunky flower motif necklace & heels with an eye catching print is all you need.

"Billie" from our S.Oliver range is the perfect shoe to keep your look right on trend. With its al over flower print & pointed toe, "Billie" is the heel for any outfit. Its beautiful floral design will look great with any colour of dress. This is a gorgeous shoe, you will wear again & again. Not only for formal occasions, slip them on with a pair of skinny jeans for a mid week dinner date. I love this shoe! It's comfortable enough to wear all day. So after the wedding, I'll be wearing it every chance I get.

There are so many gorgeous heels to choose from at McConnells. I've only shown you a few here, so pop in store to see the full range, or browse online. We'll find you the shoe for that special occasion.
