The Battle between the Lace Up and the Slip On!

Are you a lace up or a slip on kind of girl? Personally I am torn, as I love the handiness and simplicity of a slip on, but the style of the lace up!

So, what are my choices I hear you ask?!

Well, Mustang have outdone themselves this season. Their variety of styles and colours are fab, which makes the choice so much harder. I really don’t know how to pick!

If you are a fan of the traditional lace up, rubber toe combi, then ‘Chelsea’ is your go to shoe! This beauty is a season and after big seller and this season is no different. Its canvas style upper and rubber toe and sole unit keeps it bang on trend, whilst the lace up entry secures the foot for a snug fit. It is lightweight and super flexible and doesn’t compromise on comfort. The choice of colours makes the decision even more difficult as you have the choice of denim blue, aqua, grey, claret or rose. Like, which one do you go for? Can I have them all! All would be the perfect with skinnies or cropped trousers, or track bottoms for ultimate comfort!

Erin’ is a similar style from the range, only it has a leather look finish instead of the canvas. The red trim detailing keeps the styling very fresh and clean. So, this is another one to add to the Mustang collection!

If you love the Mustang brand, but don’t want to fiddle with laces, then check out ‘Debby’!

We are loving this wee slip on skater! Choose from beige/brown or silver, both feature a metallic finish with a contrast toe. The elasticated side panels allow for easy on and off and help keep the foot secure. The heavy look white sole unit keeps this style fresh and on trend, whilst the metallic finish of the upper makes it look less casual. These are a great wee everyday shoe and are a definite must have for this season! So much so, they are flying off the shelf!

If you prefer something with a bit more detailing to your shoe, then Heavenly Feet have the answer. ‘Loveday’ and ‘Jinks’ are two styles to take your fancy. Both are slip on skater styles and are so cute. ‘Loveday’ has simple black lace detailing on top of a gold background, making it great for adding a wee something extra to your black skinnies. If you are a fan of the Cath Kidson styling then ‘Jinks’ is the one for you with its floral print! They are a great bargain too at only £24.99 and are perfect for taking you out of your boots and into your sandals (if the rain ever buzzes off!)

Another brand which is hitting the right note this season is Sprox. They have a beautiful wee slip on skater in their range called ‘Bethany’ and a lace up called ‘Alisha’. ‘Bethany’ has a snake print teamed with suede upper in a soft pastel pinky nude and metallic finish. It is very secure and neat on the foot and is perfect for those ladies out there who love their pinks! ‘Alesha’ is the lace up and is finished in a grey and metallic snake print/suede combi. It is very neutral and works well teamed with cropped jeans. It is a great wee shoe for those of you who are not a big fan of the converse styling with the white rubber toe. Perfect popped on for a day round the Port and dinner in the Ramore.

So, in the battle between the lace ups and the slip ons rages on! Which one will be your favourite? There are just so many choices! I might just have to buy more than one, a lace up and a slip on, as you always need a choice on your wardrobe!
