Rain Rain Go Away

It has got to that time of year where we really need to be thinking about keeping our tootsies dry and warm – and thanks to our good ole Norn Irish weather, we really do have to be prepared for all eventualities. Waterproof and water repellent boots is something we are asked quite often for, so I have put together our top 4.

What a boot! Winter is well and truly here and this has to be your ‘go-to’ warm boot. The soft leather upper is super flexible allowing full movement through the footbed. The fur trimmed ankle collar not only looks the part, but also pulls the boot neatly to the ankle. The wool lined inner keeps your feet toasty warm in the cold weather, whilst the Tex membrane upper makes them water resistant therefore keeping your feet nice and dry. The tan leather is super rich looking and teams perfectly with your skinny jeans. The thick treaded sole unit makes this a great walking boot, providing much needed traction. This boot is a must have if you are always out and about!

Mount Hope is a premium waterproof mid length boot. I love this full lace up style – perfect for winter walks (or a long weekend in Iceland exploring!) The waterproof membrane keeps feet dry and really comfy. You really need to try these on just to feel the 200g of Primaloft insulation that keeps feet warm but is so cosy, you won’t want to take them off! These feature a removable anti-fatigue footbed that provides comfort and support. The sole is really durable and has great tread for doing plenty of walking which is what this boot is designed for!

This is a great wee go to everyday boot. It has a lovely warm furry lining throughout the inside which will keep your toes toasty warm in this cold weather. Featuring Jana Tex, these are water repellent and breathable so perfect for our ever changing weather. Coming in a very versatile grey upper with knitted ankle cuff detailing, this is going to take you right through to those spring days.

I am in love! Being a big walker with my dogs (Winston and Arthur) in rain, hail or shine, these are a must have! I love that they combine style and comfort, whilst the block heel provides a welcome height boost. The insole provides cushioning in all the right places – heel, arch, ball of foot, so they are great for all day wear. What is great is that DevreeViola has a Gore-Tex membrane, meaning they are fully waterproof, allowing sweat out but not letting the wet in. These feature a lovely rich tan upper with suede accents around the back of the ankle. I am in love with these!

Here is hoping the weather isn’t as bad as they are predicting, but if it is we will have your feet covered. We do also stock a range of waterproof and water resistant shoes, so don’t forget to ask us about them. Shop online or pop in store and have a chat to our lovely McConnell gals and guys!
