  • Glam It Up!

     Glamour Set

It's time to get your sparkle on ladies! If you have a formal coming up or a wedding to attend, then you're going to need some glam heels to finish off your outfit.

McConnell's new range from "Glamour" are just the ticket. No need to search for a bag to match your shoes, as these shoes come with a matching bag included. At  only £59.99 for the shoes & matching bag together, they are a steal!

This selection from "Glamour" really is stunning. For that 1940's film star look, go for "London" with it's classic peep toe. With a 3.5inch heel & slight platform underfoot, it gives your feet added cushioning without losing any style points. With elegant ruching detail & an Art Deco inspired broach detail, "London" will see you through any formal party or wedding. It comes with a matching bag to finish off your outfit too. It comes in silver or gold, which go great with so many colours.

If you prefer a slightly lower heel then "Paris" is the one for you. It comes in either gold or pewter, & features a beautiful gem encrusted bow detail at the toe. It has an open toe & slingback fastening to give a great fit. With its 2.5inch heel & matching bag, it offers comfort without substituting the style.

Another great range of occasion shoes from "Kate Appleby" have just landed here at McConnells, & I can't wait to show them off! I have a couple of weddings this year so I've been eyeing up outfits recently. It can be hard getting a shoe to go with your outfit, but not with these stylish heels!

The classic styling of "Devon" will suit any wedding outfit, with its peep toe & stiletto heel. If you want to elongate your legs, then this 4inch heel will do the job! But don't fret, it comes with a concealed platform to keep your feet well cushioned. "Devon" comes in silver or a beautifully iridescent blush gold. I'll definitely be snapping up a gold pair!

Another stunner from "Kate Appleby" is "Telford". With its strapping detail it will keep you bang on trend this spring/summer. With a 4inch stiletto heel & hidden platform, it gives you that killer heel look, without the killer heel pain! It comes in classic black, & nude to go with any outfit. But if you want a splash of colour, it also comes in a gorgeous vibrant peach, to add a pop of colour to your look. I have to say, the peach is my favourite, & will go great with a dress I've had my eye on! Is it possible for a girl to have too many shoes? The answer is NO! Don't let anyone tell you any different!

  • Navy is the new black.

    Navy is the new black.

When I'm searching for something to wear, black always seems to be an easy choice to fall back on. Let's face it girls black can be a bit dull! Don't get me wrong. It's a good choice when you want a sleeker silhouette. I don't know about you, but I always want that! However, it's not always the best choice if you want to stand out from the crowd, without going overboard with colour.

That's why NAVY is the colour for me. Navy is a neutral tone. That's why it goes with everything! It even goes with black. Yes that's right. Navy and black DO go together! Forget what your mum told you. Black actually brings out the rich colour of navy.

Forget the little black dress for a night out. Go for a little navy number! Team a little navy dress with your favourite chunky necklace and some sexy shoe boots to add a bit of edginess to your look. Kate Appleby "Sandown" shoe boots are my current fave.

A navy shoe boot can take you anywhere. I wear mine day and night. They're easily teamed with a skirt or skinnies. With a slimline high heel and platform sole, you can be comfortable and stylish at the same time.

Now that winter is well and truly here it's time to think boots! A good quality boot is a staple for every woman's wardrobe. If you only buy one pair of boots this season, you want one that goes with pretty much everything! Tan goes with a lot, but is more casual. Black goes with a lot and is dressy. However black can be a bit too harsh for some casual looks. A navy boot can solve the problem! Navy is a rich colour yet still soft. You can team a navy boot with a casual outfit with ease. However, navy is an easy option for a smarter look.

This season I've fallen in love with the "Arizona" boot from Cara London. It comes in brown or navy. Guess what? Yeah I got the navy. I want a boot I can get a lot of wear out of. The Arizona is that boot for me. I wear it with a chunky jumper and skinnies jeans for a cosy, casual day look. But I can throw them on with a mini skirt and button down shirt and some bling.

I find navy always looks a bit richer and, dare I say, more high end than black. When you are looking for a shoe or boot you can get various materials and textures to suit. I find navy suede and navy patents always look richer and more luxurious than other colours.

So ladies, next time you're out shopping for a shoe or boot to go with an outfit, why not try navy. Trust me, it will make your outfit pop!
